About Our Farm

Pronking Acres Alpaca Farm is a small huacaya alpaca farm in southwest Michigan. In late 2012, we made the decision to leave Washington, DC and start an alpaca farm in Michigan. We couldn’t be happier! (For a longer version of our story, see this post.) We are choosing alpacas based on getting the finest fiber available! By choosing with a discriminating eye, you know that the alpacas you see here and the products we sell are only the best!

Check out our beautiful alpacas on Our Herd page!

If you are interested in a farm visit, please give us a call (269.430.3463) or send an email to pronkingacres@gmail.com.

A note about finding us:

We are located at 15628 Michigan Highway 89, Augusta, MI 49012. There are some navigation systems that think we are on E. Augusta Dr, in the village of Augusta. We are not! If you use Google Maps, you can search for Pronking Acres Alpaca Farm and you will get to the right place!

Directions from Battle Creek:

In downtown Battle Creek, take Michigan Ave W out of town. You will leave Battle Creek and go through Urbandale. As you leave Urbandale, there is a blinking light and you can go straight or turn right. Turn right to stay on M-89 and follow the road 1.9 miles. We are on the left.

Directions from Kalamazoo:

From I-94 and Sprinkle road — go north until you get to Gull Road. Turn right onto Gull Road (M-43) and follow it to the center of Richland. The road will curve to the right (at Harding’s). At the light, M-43 turns left and M-89 goes straight. Stay straight and follow M-89 through the rest of Richland. We are 6.7 miles from that light. You will pass Gull Lake, Stony Lake and the Stonehedge Golf Course. We are on the right hand side of the road just after the golf course.

Go slow or you will miss us!
